Marius Toscan qualified for the semi-finals in the 200 m dolphin as eleventh in the heats. In 1:58.57, the 22-year-old from St. Gallen, who finished a strong fifth in the 400 m medley at the European Championships on Monday, set a personal best. He will have to beat it again to make the final of the best eight.

With Lisa Mamié and Antonio Djakovic, two more Swiss athletes will be competing in the open-air pool in the Serbian capital on Friday evening. Mamié is aiming to defend her title in the 200 m breaststroke final - and the limit for the Olympic Games in Paris (2:23.91). Djakovic finished sixth in the semi-finals of the 200m crawl.
