Top favorite Tadej Pogacar is slowed down by a Covid illness in the run-up to the Tour de France.

Tadej Pogacar, the big favorite for the Tour de France starting in Florence on Saturday, announced on Thursday that his immediate preparation for the world's most famous cycling race was affected by health problems. "I fell ill ten days ago. I had Covid, which was a bit of a question mark, but I've recovered well and am fully fit again," said the Slovenian at a press conference in Florence.
