The Olympic Games in Paris are off to a good start for Swiss eventer Felix Vogg.
The 34-year-old equestrian, who lives in Germany, is in a strong 5th place in the Concours Complet (formerly Military) after the dressage.
In the saddle on Dao de l'Ocean, Vogg recorded 22.10 penalty points, 3.6 points more than the leader Laura Collett from Great Britain. At his Olympic debut three years ago, Vogg finished 8th after the first of three disciplines and ultimately finished the competition in 19th place.
Robin Godel and Mélody Johner, the best Swiss rider in 2021 in 17th place, will have to improve significantly in the cross-country on Sunday and the show jumping on Monday if they want to be in contention for the diplomas. Godel is in 20th place after the first of three disciplines, while Johner is in 55th place with a large mortgage.
Switzerland is in 7th place in the team ranking.
