In the US state of Kentucky, the police are investigating a gruesome criminal case. In the small town of Mount Olivet, police found the dismembered body of a woman on a property and later also human remains in a cooking pot in the house, according to US media.

Fox News reported that the police arrested a 32-year-old woman in the house - she was the victim's daughter and initially refused to speak to the police. She was forced to leave the house with the help of tear gas and was covered in blood. According to US media, a witness stated that he had encountered the mother and daughter together the day before. The daughter had been aggressive, had uttered "spells" and appeared confused.

Kentucky police said that officers had found the body of a woman on the property. They later took the 32-year-old woman into custody. She is charged with desecration of a corpse, tampering with evidence and obstructing an investigation. Additional charges could be added in the course of further investigations, the police emphasized.
