Train cancellations, delays and detour: There were disruptions to rail services in the Zurich area on Thursday morning. During the morning rush hour, the line between Zurich main station and Brugg AG was affected.

Rail traffic was partially disrupted for several hours from around 07:15 between Glanzenberg and Dietikon ZH stations, as reported by SBB on Platform X.

This initially affected numerous supra-regional rail connections such as the IC1, IC3, IC5 and IC8 as well as several Interregio connections and certain B-Bahn lines on the Zurich transport network, according to the statement. SBB recommended travelers between Zurich main station and Olten SO to travel via Lucerne.

Shortly before 09.00 a.m., one of the blocked tracks could be used again; the first long-distance trains were running on the line again. The possible delays, cancellations and detour in the following two hours were limited to lines IR36, IR37, RE37 and four S-Bahn lines.

The reason for the restriction was an external event in the form of a personal accident, as SBB reported at the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency.
