A 48-year-old driver hit an 8-year-old boy in Neuhausen am Rheinfall on Tuesday. The child was thrown to the ground and injured. An ambulance took the accident victim to hospital, as the police reported on Wednesday.

According to initial investigations by the Schaffhausen police, the boy got out of a school bus and ran into the road. Although the car driver braked, he was no longer able to prevent the collision.
