Accident Drowned woman fell into the Rhine while taking photos at the weir

The woman who drowned in the Rhine at the hydropower plant in Rheinfelden on the Swiss-German border on Tuesday afternoon is the victim of a tragic accident. According to the police, the 37-year-old was sitting on the railing of the weir and had her photo taken.

She probably lost her balance in the process. She fell down the weir into the Rhine, the Freiburg police headquarters announced on Wednesday. The woman fell into the Rhine at around 1.30 p.m. on Tuesday. Despite immediate rescue measures, she could only be recovered dead.
