Four mountaineers have died in an accident on Mont Blanc in the French Alps. From a helicopter, mountain rescuers had located the two Italians and the two Koreans who had died in the accident, reported the TF1 channel with reference to the gendarmerie. The climbers, who had been searched for since Saturday, probably died of exhaustion. They were discovered near the summit of Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in the Alps.

Late on Saturday afternoon, the gendarmerie had been informed about three rope teams who had got into difficulties in very bad weather conditions not far from the summit of Mont Blanc. On Sunday morning, two Koreans were rescued by rescuers at an altitude of 4,100 meters. However, due to deteriorating weather conditions, the rescuers from France and Italy had to interrupt their search for a while. Rescuers from Chamonix and Annecy then continued their mission on Tuesday.
