Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the act and announced a crackdown on terrorism. Initially, no group claimed responsibility for the attack. In Baluchistan, there are repeated attacks by the separatists of the Baluchistan Liberation Army (BLA), who are demanding more autonomy for the resource-rich province.
