Fire disaster Doris Leuthard chairs foundation for Crans-Montana fire victims
Doris Leuthard is taking over as President of the Beloved Foundation, which was set up following the fire disaster in Crans-Montana VS. The former President of the Swiss Confederation was appointed by the members of the Valais State Council on Tuesday.

The foundation board consists of nine members, "personalities who are known for their expertise and commitment, particularly in the areas of medicine, victim care and human support", according to a press release issued by the canton of Valais on Tuesday. The members also include a representative of the families of the French victims. Preparations are currently underway for the appointment of its Italian counterpart.
The initial capital of the foundation consists of one million francs for the operation of the foundation as well as donations currently totaling 17 million francs, including the 10 million francs that the State Council intends to contribute.
