Four migrants have died off the coast of northern France while attempting to cross to Great Britain. After their boat capsized not far from the port city of Boulogne, emergency services rescued around 60 migrants from the English Channel during the night.

They were unable to help four who were already unconscious, reported the newspaper "La Voix du Nord", citing the police. Rescuers in the port took care of the hypothermic rescued people. The operation is still ongoing and the outcome is not final.

Migrants keep crossing the English Channel to reach Great Britain. They often make the journey in small rubber dinghies. The crossing is dangerous, partly because many large ships use the estuary. People die time and again during the crossings.
