The mutual attacks between the Hezbollah militia in Lebanon and the Israeli army in the border area between the two countries are continuing.

According to Israel's army, it registered around 65 projectiles fired from Lebanon that flew into Israeli territory. Some were intercepted, while others fell on open ground.

Several shells also fell in the area around Kiriat Shmona, the army added in a statement. Israeli media reported damage, including to a house in the village. There were initially no reports of casualties. Hezbollah claimed responsibility for several attacks.

The Israeli army also reported that several fires were started by falling projectiles. According to its own information, it is currently attacking Hezbollah targets in the neighboring country.

The Lebanese state agency NNA reported Israeli air strikes on targets in several locations in the south of the country. According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, two people were injured in Israeli attacks during the night.

Since the beginning of the war in the Gaza Strip between Israel and the Islamist Hamas, which is allied with Hezbollah, around eleven months ago, there have been almost daily military confrontations between the Israeli army and Hezbollah in the border area between the two countries.

There have been casualties on both sides - most of them members of Hezbollah. According to its own statements, Hezbollah is acting in solidarity with Hamas.
