Venezuelan opposition candidate Edmundo González has left the country following the presidential election in July, which was overshadowed by allegations of fraud.

González, who is recognized as the winner of the election by the USA and other countries, will be flown to Spain on a Spanish Air Force plane at his own request, Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares announced on the X platform. Venezuela's government confirmed the opposition figure's departure.
