Teachers are satisfied with their collaboration with colleagues, their classes and their lessons. They have a more negative view of integrative support. According to a new study, they rate their overall satisfaction at 4.2 on a school grading scale.

The umbrella organization for teachers (LCH) presented the study on Thursday. This is the fifth edition for German-speaking Switzerland since the 1990s. "Generally speaking, teachers are happy in their profession, but there are warning signs," said LCH Central President Dagmar Rösler, summarizing the results to the media.

According to Martina Brägger, head of the study, teachers are particularly satisfied with their collaboration with colleagues, classes, lessons and parents. One fly in the ointment is integrative support. The balance between work and relaxation time and public recognition also left something to be desired.

Overall, satisfaction is 4.2 on a scale of 1 to 6. "We are in the sufficient range, but with plenty of room for improvement," said Brägger.
