According to official reports, three civilians, including a minor, were killed by Ukrainian shelling in the western Russian region of Belgorod. There were also four injured in the village of Arkhangelskoye near the border, the governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, announced on Telegram. "An eleven-year-old girl was taken to hospital and both feet of the child's mother were amputated," Gladkov wrote.

Russia has also been firing on civilian targets in Ukraine since the start of the war of aggression ordered by Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin. Kharkiv in particular, Ukraine's second-largest city before the war, has been repeatedly hit by drones, missiles and bombs. There have already been many casualties as a result.

However, the Russian region of Belgorod on the opposite side is also severely affected by the consequences of the war. Places close to the border often come under fire from the Ukrainian side.
