Eastern Switzerland Over 80,000 francs of property damage in a fire in WC facilities in Flawil
Two public toilet facilities caught fire in Flawil SG on Saturday. This resulted in property damage of over CHF 80,000, as reported by the St. Gallen cantonal police on Sunday.

The report of a fire was received by the cantonal emergency call center shortly before 8.30 pm. The fire department responded with ten firefighters and was able to extinguish the fire quickly. According to the police, the fire probably started at the back of the toilet block.
Shortly after 4 p.m., a fire was reported to the emergency call center in another toilet facility. According to the police, a waste garbage can had caught fire there. This fire was also quickly extinguished by the fire department.
The Forensics Competence Center of the St.Gallen Cantonal Police was called in to clarify the cause of the fire. According to current findings, it is assumed that the fire was probably caused by someone else. The St.Gallen cantonal police also do not rule out a connection between the two fires and are therefore looking for witnesses.
