Traffic accident Racing cyclist dies in accident in Glattbrugg

A 56-year-old racing cyclist sustained serious injuries in a self-inflicted accident in Glattbrugg on Wednesday evening. He died at the scene of the accident.

The man was riding on the cycle path along Birchstrasse in the direction of Rümlang, as reported by the Zurich cantonal police on Thursday. For reasons as yet unexplained, the racing cyclist first drove into a fence on the right-hand side at around 7.30 p.m. and then crashed into a fence post.
