Elevators Schindler wins major order in Saudi Arabia
Schindler has won a major contract in the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh. The elevator and escalator manufacturer is to supply a total of 293 elevators, escalators and moving walks for the new multi-purpose project The Avenues.

The megaproject is to cover an area of more than 1.8 million square meters. Once completed, it will house the largest shopping center in the Middle East with 380,000 square meters and five other multi-purpose high-rise buildings with hotels, apartments and offices, according to a communiqué issued on Tuesday.
Specifically, the group from Central Switzerland is to supply 134 Schindler 5500 elevators (including 45 passenger elevators and 89 service elevators), one Schindler 2600 elevator, 150 Schindler 9300 escalators and eight Schindler 9500 moving walks. All installations could be monitored around the clock thanks to cloud connectivity.
