Swiss Radio and Television is cutting around 70 full-time positions by the beginning of 2025. This is part of the "SRF 4.0" strategic corporate project to drive forward the digital transformation, the company announced on its media portal on Thursday.
For "SRF 4.0", the job and financial framework at Swiss Radio and Television (SRF) must be stabilized in the short term by the end of the current year, it continued. However, the job cuts are subject to the results of the upcoming consultation process.
Savings are planned within the two editorial departments Audio/Digital and Video. A slight reduction in management and assistant positions is also planned.
Individual positions will also be cut across the company in order to eliminate duplication within the organization. Individual formats will also be discontinued at off-peak times and in the offering for under 35-year-olds. There will also be job cuts in the Distribution, Sport and Entertainment departments.
