Two suspected drug couriers have been caught by the Zurich cantonal police at Zurich Airport in recent days. According to the authorities, the two women were smuggling a total of 70 kilograms of marijuana.

Both suspects are US-American, as the Zurich cantonal police reported in a press release on Tuesday. Police officers initially checked the luggage of a 26-year-old woman traveling from Bangkok to Zurich on Sunday. They discovered 35 kilograms of marijuana.

The second suspect is reportedly 22 years old. She had flown from Doha in Qatar to Zurich on Monday. The police found a further 35 kilograms of marijuana in her suitcases.

Both women were arrested and the marijuana confiscated.
