Healthcare Bernese psychiatric institutions to have a joint head of finance
The merger of the University Psychiatric Services Bern (UPD) and the Münsingen Psychiatric Center (PZM) is taking shape: Mathias Wernli will take over the overall financial management from November, as the institutions announced on Thursday.

Wernli is already Director of Finance at the Münsingen Psychiatric Center. Martial Seifriz, who was previously responsible for finance at UPD, will be leaving the company at the end of November.
In the run-up to the planned merger, the two institutions want to intensify their cooperation, as they wrote in a joint press release - also with regard to personnel issues.
UPD and PZM are aiming to merge by 2027 at the latest. A feasibility study is currently underway to serve as the basis for this. They plan to present the results to the government council in the first quarter of 2025, as they announced last week.
