Building project Biel renovates Mett daycare center
The city of Biel needs to comprehensively renovate the Mett daycare center. The municipal council has now applied to the city council for a commitment credit of CHF 850,000 for the project planning of the renovation.

The daycare center building dates back to 1961, as the city of Biel/Bienne wrote in a press release on Friday. The facility is getting on in years and therefore needs to be renovated. It should then be ready for operation for the next 25 years, the press release added.
The premises are to be made accessible to people with disabilities and adapted to the applicable fire protection regulations, it added. The building technology is to be comprehensively renovated and the building envelope insulated in line with current requirements.
The renovation is to be planned from summer 2024 and implemented from 2026. The Mett daycare center currently offers a total of 84 full-time places and is attended by around 130 children.
