Road accident Car driver fatally injured in accident on Lenk

A female driver was fatally injured in an accident on Lenk on Tuesday morning. She died at the scene of the accident, according to the Bern cantonal police.

The accident occurred on the Nessli-Alp. According to current information, the woman was driving downhill on the Bummerenweg when she left the road for reasons still to be clarified. The car rolled about 200 meters down the slope and came to a halt in the meadow below, as the police wrote in a statement.

The woman was a 50-year-old Swiss resident in the canton of Bern.

The vehicle was rescued by helicopter. The police have launched an investigation to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident.
