A cyclist was seriously injured on the Gotthardstrasse near Erstfeld UR on Friday. A car driver crashed into him when turning, as reported by the Uri cantonal police on Saturday.

The 33-year-old cyclist was traveling north on Gotthardstrasse, while the 24-year-old female driver with a Uri license plate was heading south. Shortly before the railroad underpass, the driver of the car intended to turn left towards a residential building, according to the police report. This resulted in a collision with the cyclist.

The injured cyclist was taken to hospital. The car driver remained uninjured. The damage to property amounts to 4000 francs.
