A heavily intoxicated van driver caused a rear-end collision in Bürglen TG on Friday evening. No one was injured. The driver then drove away from the scene of the accident.

The 52-year-old was stopped a short time later by a police patrol following a tip-off, as reported by the Thurgau cantonal police on Saturday morning. A breath test on the driver revealed a blood alcohol level of 2.42 per mille. His driver's license was confiscated.
