Political parties EVP Zurich with a new president

The delegates of the EVP of the canton of Zurich elected Donato Scognamiglio as their new President on Tuesday. The cantonal councillor from the Bülach district replaces Hanspeter Hugentobler. The latter had decided to leave the post to younger forces, as the cantonal party announced.

The 54-year-old Scognamiglio has been a member of the cantonal parliament since 2023 and is a member of the Committee for Economic Affairs and Taxation (WAK). After seven years at the helm of the cantonal Evangelical People's Party (EPP), his predecessor Hugentobler wants to concentrate more on his mandate in the cantonal council.
