On Tuesday evening, the professional fire department extinguished a fire in an apartment building in Kleinbasel. The fire broke out on a balcony in the backyard of the property. No one was injured, as the public prosecutor's office announced on Wednesday.

The fire broke out at 8 p.m. on Feldbergstrasse between Hammerstrasse and Mörsbergerstrasse and caused a striking column of smoke over Kleinbasel.
Feldbergstrasse was temporarily closed during the rescue work. The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined and is being investigated by the criminal investigation department, according to the press release.
