At three o'clock in the morning, the emergency call center received a report that a store had been broken into and that two people had fled in a car, the Thurgau cantonal police reported on Tuesday.

Investigations revealed that the getaway vehicle, a black Audi Q7, had previously been stolen near the scene of the crime. The perpetrators drove in the direction of Zurich at a sometimes excessive speed and caused a rear-end collision with a cab on the highway near Dietlikon.

The three occupants of the cab were slightly injured. The two people in the Audi fled on foot. An immediate search by the Zurich cantonal police was unsuccessful. The damage to property and the value of the property involved in the burglary amount to several tens of thousands of francs.
