Only the accounts for budgets over CHF 10,000 are published, as the State Chancellery writes. The information in the individual statements comes from the political parties. The majority of the money was spent on the federal election campaign. Supplementary elections were also held in the upper office of the Glâne district at the time.
The centrist campaign amounted to CHF 296,000, as can be seen from the figures published on the Internet on Wednesday. Natural persons were not among the largest donors. Legal entities donated a total of 75,500 francs, mostly in smaller amounts in the single-digit thousands.
The legal entities that donated included the cantonal bank as well as construction and real estate companies. One donation amounted to 40,000 francs. It came from the Fête du Printemps organization in Corminboeuf.
In the end, the Liberals spent 224,000 francs. They also only recorded three smaller donations from legal entities in the single-digit thousands.
The SVP donated around 152,000 francs. The People's Party also did not receive any donations from natural persons outside the party. The party received a contribution in the single-digit thousands from the cantonal bank.
The Fribourg Social Democrats received 250,700 francs for their election campaign. The party received donations totaling CHF 18,500 from legal entities. Donors included trade unions and the Swiss parent party as well as a solar agency.
The Greens received around 88,600 francs. From outside the party, they received a donation from the cantonal bank in the single-digit thousands.
The Green Liberals spent 45,800 on the election campaign. They received three small donations of up to a thousand francs, for example from the Fribourg Employers' Association.
The EPP entered the election campaign with a budget of CHF 10,300. The party did not receive any donations from individuals or legal entities.
The item "other donations and contributions" is also listed in the final accounts. Here, most parties also received several thousand francs. The Freisinn reported the most at around CHF 19,000. In addition, the parties also receive money for their election campaigns from the state and usually also from the candidates themselves.
Associations also dipped into their coffers for the elections. The Fribourg Gastronomy Association contributed just over 21,000 francs. The Pacte Citoyen association also contributed around CHF 29,000 to the election campaign.
