School building Gym halls of the Platanes school building in Biel receive supports
Following investigations into the condition of the concrete, the gymnasiums of the Platanes school building in Biel can no longer be used as before. The halls will be supported by wooden pillars and access will be restricted.

These restrictions affect the French-speaking Platanes secondary school, the Madretsch elementary school and various sports clubs, as announced by the City Chancellery on Friday.
The town intends to renovate or build a new school building in Platanes in the coming years. With this project in mind, the condition of the concrete was checked everywhere during the summer vacations. The measures taken are intended to ensure the safety of the gymnasiums until the start of the construction project. Work is due to start in 2028.
