The patrol car was on an urgent business trip to a domestic violence incident on the Hardbrücke shortly after 05:00, according to the city police. During the journey, there was a collision with the cab at the Hardbrücke-Geroldrampe junction.

The injured passengers and the cab driver were taken to hospital by the ambulance service. Both vehicles sustained extensive material damage.

"Urgent emergency driving normally means blue lights and horn", explained the media office of the city police on request. The cantonal police are investigating whether this was also the case in this instance. They are investigating the course of the accident, as is usual in such cases.
