A driver of an e-scooter crashed into a house wall in Bremgarten AG on Wednesday evening and was subsequently taken to hospital with injuries. According to initial findings, the man was under the influence of alcohol, as reported by the Aargau cantonal police on Thursday.

Eyewitnesses had observed the 56-year-old at 6.15 p.m. in the old town of Bremgarten as he rode downhill on an electrically powered scooter towards the Reuss bridge. He lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a house wall.

He hit his head on the ground when he fell, the police reported. He was not wearing a helmet and was "barely responsive" when the emergency services arrived. The ambulance took him to hospital and initial reports indicated that the man was under the influence of alcohol.
