Traffic accident Motorcyclist seriously injured in head-on collision in Wynigen

One person was seriously injured in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a car on Monday evening. The cause of the accident has not yet been determined, according to the Bern cantonal police.

The seriously injured motorcyclist had to be taken to hospital by ambulance after initial treatment at the scene, as the police wrote in a statement on Tuesday.

According to current police information, the motorcyclist was traveling from Burgdorf in the direction of Wynigen. At the same time, a car was traveling in the opposite direction when the two vehicles collided head-on near the Bickingen/Lorraine junction.

The section of road was completely closed for several hours for the rescue and accident work. The Bern cantonal police have opened an investigation into the accident.
