A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a car in Gillarens FR on Thursday evening. He was flown to hospital by helicopter. The driver of the car was also injured.

The accident occurred on the Route d'Oron when the motorcyclist tried to overtake a convoy of vehicles, as reported by the Fribourg cantonal police on Friday. The 19-year-old motorcyclist collided with a car that wanted to turn left into Chemin de Coppet.

The police have launched an investigation to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident.
