On Sunday, Baar has not yet elected a successor to the municipal councillor Pirmin Andermatt (center), who died in office. All three candidates fell short of the absolute majority.
With an absolute majority of 2,717 votes, 49-year-old managing director Vital Hotz (center) received 2,138 votes. Simon Uster (Alternative-the Greens), who was born in 1998 and works for the Zug police force, received 1,707 votes. The 44-year-old sales manager Reto Leutenegger (FDP) received 1,588 votes.
The turnout was 38 percent.
The second round of voting is scheduled for November 24. The relative majority will apply in this round.
