Gastronomy Park café in Bern's Elfenau gets new operator

The park café in Bern's Elfenau recreational area will have a new team of operators from April 2025. The city has opted for Team Zinnia, a consortium of four Bernese companies.

The Zinnia team consists of Caffè Bar Gagarin GmbH, Gelateria di Berna AG, Gourmetbox GmbH and La Caméléone GmbH. According to the City of Bern's Directorate of Civil Engineering, Transport and Urban Greenery, the decisive factors in the selection process were a concept that was adapted to the location and could be further developed, as well as a high level of willingness to cooperate with local stakeholders.

These stakeholders include, for example, the neighborhood, event organizers and the agricultural sector. The rental agreement is initially for three years

At the beginning of the year, the City of Bern put the Park Café out to tender for a trial period of three years in order to gain insights from its operation for the upcoming complete renovation of the Orangeries and its future development.
