Accident Passers-by rescue driver from burning car in Ipsach

A driver who was injured after an accident was rescued from the burning car by passers-by on Sunday. An ambulance team took the man to hospital.

The man was driving his car from Täuffelen towards Nidau at around 9.30 a.m. when he crossed into the oncoming lane for unknown reasons, according to the Bern cantonal police. The car left the road. It crashed into a wall in front of a house and came to a halt. A fire broke out in the car.

Firefighters were reportedly able to extinguish the flames quickly. The road was closed for several hours. There were also restrictions on bus services in the region. The police launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
