Police arrested two suspected thieves in Arlesheim BL on Wednesday night. The two are suspected of sneaking into an apartment and taking criminal property with them, according to the Basel cantonal police.

Shortly after 1.30 a.m., a resident of a ground-floor apartment in an apartment building on Dorngasse reported that an unknown man had just sneaked into her home. When she woke up, the intruder fled.

Several patrols with service dogs and support from the Solothurn cantonal police then searched for him. They found a suspect and a companion at Arlesheim railroad station. During a check, they discovered stolen goods from the apartment in question. The two Algerians, aged 26 and 32, were initially detained for further investigations, according to the press release.
