There was a power cut in the Kirchenfeld district of Bern for around an hour on Tuesday lunchtime. Over 500 buildings were affected, according to the energy service provider Energie Wasser Bern (EWB).

The cause of the outage was probably a cable fault, an EWB spokesperson told the Keystone-SDA news agency.

According to EWB, the Freudenberg/Sonnenhof/Weltpostverein area was affected.
