The wind turbines on the Lindenberg in Freiamt would produce two thirds of the electricity in winter, Windpark Lindenberg AG announced on Monday. A series of measurements over several years confirms good wind values. The annual output of the wind farm is expected to meet the energy requirements of around 5600 households.
With a hub height of 150 meters, long-term wind speeds of more than five meters per second have been measured. The circular foundations of the three turbines each have a diameter of 25 meters. The anchoring in the ground is three meters deep. The total height of the turbines is 229 meters each and the diameter of the rotors is 158 meters.
Included in the Aargau structure plan
The Lindenberg wind zone is legally established in the cantonal structure plan. The cantonal authorities have already examined the eligibility for approval of the environmental impact assessment and the cultural land and design plan, according to a statement.
The planning documents and the canton's preliminary review report are available at the Beinwil municipal administration until September 17. Following the final revision of the project, the municipal assembly is expected to vote on the utilization plan next spring.
Three partners for wind farm
Windpark Lindenberg AG was founded in 2017 by the Aargau-based energy company AEW Energie, Centralschweizerische Kraftwerke (CKW) and Services industriels de Genève (SIG). The three partners are independent energy companies and are owned by the public sector or the respective cantons and municipalities.
A wind farm with five wind turbines was originally planned on the Lindenberg - four wind turbines on the Horben in Beinwil and one wind turbine in the canton of Lucerne.
In September 2021, the general meeting of the Horben Alpine Cooperative decided not to enter into a new cooperation agreement with Windpark Lindenberg AG. The Pro Lindenberg association is opposing the planned wind farm in the popular excursion area.
