Traffic accident Reckless driver causes collision in Bergell GR

A reckless female driver endangered oncoming vehicles and caused two collisions on Tuesday in the southern Graubünden valley of Bergell GR. In the end, the 21-year-old Italian woman's car was also wrecked. Fortunately, all the occupants escaped with only minor injuries.

The young woman was driving on the valley road towards Castasegna on the border with Italy, as reported by the cantonal police of Graubünden on Wednesday.

On a short straight, she overtook a car so recklessly that vehicles coming in the opposite direction had to take evasive action. A motorcyclist also had to take evasive action to save himself. "According to initial findings, drivers from the opposite direction were endangered during the overtaking maneuver," wrote the police.

After the overtaking maneuver, the driver lost control of her small car and crashed into the side of an oncoming car. She then collided with a motorhome following behind.

The occupants of all the cars escaped with minor injuries. The three drivers and one passenger received outpatient medical treatment.

The police are still investigating the reckless driving that led to the accident, according to the press release. Due to the danger to oncoming traffic, they are looking for witnesses who can provide information about the woman's driving style.
