An 18-year-old motorcyclist and his pillion passenger, who was a year older, crashed their motorcycle in an orchard in Engishofen TG on Saturday evening. They suffered injuries and were taken to hospital by ambulance.

The two were traveling on the main road towards Oberaach at around 7.30 p.m., the Thurgau cantonal police reported on Sunday. Shortly before leaving the village, the 18-year-old lost control of the motorcycle on a right-hand bend.

The motorcycle with the two young men crossed the oncoming lane and came to a standstill in an orchard. In their statement, the police said that the rider and pillion passenger suffered minor to moderate injuries. The damage to property amounts to several thousand francs.
