Rockfall Road to Morschach SZ is secured with nets

The road leading from Axenstrasse to Morschach SZ is to be better protected against falling rocks. The district of Schwyz is therefore installing three-metre-high protective nets at the Wasiband.

In a press release issued on Thursday, the district of Schwyz explained that small stones up to the size of a soccer ball lie on the Morschacherstrasse almost every day. It expects that the safety nets will "significantly improve" the hazardous situation. However, further incidents of damage cannot be completely ruled out.

Construction work will start next Monday and last until the end of October 2024. Traffic will be restricted to one lane.
