Due to a ruptured tank on a truck, around 150 liters of diesel leaked out in Willerzell SZ on Tuesday morning. According to the police, a 53-year-old driver had previously hit a block of stone with his truck. The fire department were able to absorb some of the fuel.

Nevertheless, a large amount of diesel leaked into the adjacent soil and through a manhole cover into a nearby wooded area, according to the Schwyz cantonal police. The Office for the Environment has therefore commissioned two companies to remove the contaminated soil with an excavator and flush the manhole pipe.
