The election complaint against Simon Stocker (SP), a member of the Council of States from Schaffhausen, will become a case for the Federal Supreme Court. The complainant is taking the case further. He is convinced that Stocker was not resident in Schaffhausen at the time of the election, but in Zurich.

The complainant's lawyer announced on Friday that he had taken the case to Lausanne.
The Schaffhausen High Court announced on July 10 that it was rejecting the election complaint against Stocker. He had his usual place of residence in Schaffhausen at the time of the election - although his wife and child were registered in Zurich.
Stocker had surprisingly prevailed against the incumbent Thomas Minder (non-party) in the elections in the fall of 2023. The complainant, who does not wish to be named, wrote several letters to the editor in favor of Minder during the election campaign. According to his own statements, he also distributed flyers for Minder on two occasions. However, he was not a member of his election committee.
