The "Berner Ballzauber-Tram" was designed by artist Claude Kuhn, as the Host City Bern project team wrote in a press release. It is green and adorned with a quote from Bernese footballer Lia Wälti: "Football history is being written on Bern's pitches - the next chapter belongs to us."
The European Women's Football Championship will be held in Switzerland in 2025. Bern is the so-called "host city". Four matches will be played at the Wankdorf Stadium, including a group match for the Swiss women's national team and a quarter-final.
The European Championship streetcar will be in operation in Bern for a year, according to the statement. It is already the second streetcar in Bern with a football connection. The yellow and black YB streetcar has been driving around the city since 2018.
