In the canton of Solothurn, the average health insurance premium across all age groups will rise by 5.8% to CHF 378.90 in 2025 compared to the current year. The level of premiums is on a par with Switzerland. However, the increase will be slightly lower.

For adults aged 26 and over in Solothurn, the monthly premium for compulsory health insurance, including optional deductibles and models, will rise by an average of 6% or CHF 25.30 to CHF 449.70 per month. The additional costs per year amount to CHF 303.60.
This is according to documents published by the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) on Thursday.
For young adults aged between 19 and 25, the premium in the canton of Solothurn will rise more than the Swiss average - by 6.3 percent or CHF 18.10 to CHF 306.10 per month. For children up to the age of 18, the premium will rise by 5.3 percent or CHF 5.70 to CHF 113.60.
The average health insurance premium in the canton of Solothurn had already risen by 8.7 percent in the current year.
