It was announced at the end of 2022 that the St. Anna retirement and nursing home in Steinerberg will close. The three municipalities were left with a shambles when it came to inpatient long-term care, according to a press release issued by Steinerberg, Sattel and Rothenthurm on Monday.

A new strategy is now to form the basis for a future joint old-age policy. It is being developed by the company Vale Cura from Steinhausen ZG. According to the press release, the aim is to enable people to lead a self-determined life for as long as possible in old age. In all three municipalities, a sufficient number of needs-based assistance services as well as forms of housing and care should be available.

According to the press release, results should be available by spring 2025.
