- passed the new cantonal population law (KBSG) with 84 votes in favor, 52 against and 7 abstentions. The information events in which women and foreign nationals living in the canton of Bern will have to take part in future were the main talking point.

- The new Cantonal Civil Protection Act (KZSG) was unanimously adopted. Civil defense remains the responsibility of the municipalities, while the canton is now responsible for training those obliged to perform protective service.

- unanimously approved recurring contributions to the preservation and maintenance of outstanding architectural monuments as well as a framework credit for their restoration for the years 2025 to 2028 from the lottery fund.

- unanimously approved a loan of CHF 1.05 million from the sports fund for the expansion of the O'Bloc bouldering and climbing hall in Ostermundigen.

- took note of a report by the Security Directorate on the bumpy introduction of a major IT project at the cantonal police and public prosecutor's office. However, it demanded that the cantonal government "fulfill its overall responsibility until the digital exchange of data between the police and judiciary has been achieved". In addition, the government must show how the canton will ensure that the lessons learned from the project are taken into account in future projects.

- The canton of Bern also approved a commitment credit for the years 2024 to 2027 by 133 votes to 18 so that the canton of Bern can also commission a security company with tasks relating to embassy and consulate security in future. This should relieve the burden on the police. The annual budget is 550,000 francs.

- a loan of CHF 5.57 million for prison containers in Burgdorf was narrowly rejected by 77 votes in favor to 78 against - with a casting vote by Grand Council President Dominique Bühler (Greens).

- A partial revision of the SNB Fund Act was approved by 129 votes to 0 with 17 abstentions from the Green parliamentary group. The bill has already been approved after one reading. The partial revision makes it clear that the money remaining in the fund will be used exclusively to finance the upcoming additional investment requirements. According to the financial audit, this political will of the Grand Council was not sufficiently reflected in the previous wording of the law. The fund is currently being dissolved step by step; it contains money from the profit distributions of the Swiss National Bank (SNB).

- began discussing the Government Council's report on the performance review of the Financial and Burden Equalization Act (FILAG).

- bid farewell to the former President of the Grand Council, Hervé Gullotti (SP), with a standing ovation.
