The Lucerne police arrested two speeders and a woman on Saturday. One of the speeders was drunk and driving without a valid driver's license in a stolen car.

The 20-year-old Swiss national was arrested at 8.30 a.m. in the Lucerne district of Reussbühl, as the public prosecutor's office announced on Monday. He was traveling at 107 km/h on the Ruopigenring, where a maximum speed limit of 50 km/h applies. The breath test showed a value of the equivalent of 0.84 per mille.

A few hours earlier, the police in Neuenkirch had stopped two cars that were speeding. They were flashed in the 50 km/h zone on the road towards Emmenbrücke at 109 km/h and 121 km/h respectively. The cars were driven by a 23-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man with Portuguese citizenship, according to the press release.

The two speeders and the female speeding driver were arrested by the police. Their cars were confiscated and their driving licenses, if any, were revoked.
